Hutchens – VanKempen Preview

I interrupt my regularly scheduled program (I’m slacking on uploading Seattle & Scabland photos) for something even more exciting…

My childhood best friend and next-door neighbor, Kate, got married over the weekend.  And I got to be her wedding photographer!  The ceremony took place at The First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ann Arbor, and the reception was across the street at The Lake Forest Golf Club.  The rainy weather held off just long enough for great photos, but unfortunately, U of M was beaten by State.  But that didn’t stop it from being a truly wonderful occasion with close friends and family!

Here are just a few of my favorites from the day that I couldn’t wait to post…

Cross Country Move Pt. 3: Yellowstone

Sorry for the delay in updates my loyal subscribers.  I have been busy with a new seasonal job photographing undergraduates!  Where did I leave off…

Although we only drove through the northern most area of Yellowstone National Park, the views were breathtaking.  We got to explore Mammoth Hot Springs:

Cross Country Move Pt. 2: Mount Rushmore / Entering Yellowstone

After stopping at Badlands National Park, Joel and I continued on to see Mount Rushmore.  It was really cool, especially the night presentation, but it was a challenge to photograph with my equipment.

On Tuesday we drove from Gillette, WY to Yellowstone National Park via Highway 212 (the North East entrance).  We had no idea we would be driving directly over the mountains to get there – but it was one of the highlights of our journey!

Cross Country Move Pt. 1: The Badlands

On Monday I had the opportunity to see Badlands National Park in South Dakota.  It was breathtaking!

The rainbow looking colors are naturally occurring from all of the different mineral deposits over time.

We saw prairie dogs and even had to stop for a few Rams to cross :)
